Sky-running on the highest summits
Bordering Transylvania and Wallachia, Fagaras mountains are host of the highest peak in Romania – Moldoveanu Peak – rising on an elevation of 2544m. The altitude of 2000 m is reachable by cable-car or by car on the fantastic Transfagarasan road (best driving road in the world according to Top Gear). Over this altitude, everything changes. Here we are in for some tremendous sky-running, wild technical paths, narrow ridges, a multitude of peaks and dramatic descents, glacial lakes and buckets… It’s more like a symphony of running into the mountains. All this comes glazed with the most spectacular views over Transylvania and Sibiu to the west and Wallachian mountains to the est.
