Glorious trail in Wallachia

Meeting at the airport or at your hotel in Bucharest and private transfer to the mountains, Moieciu de Sus village (186 km, ~3.5 hours). Technical meeting, presentation of the area and of the trails.

After the breakfast, short transfer to the start of today trails. Steady climb through the dark woods will make us warm up the muscles and feel the effort. Once we are out of the forest we suddenly get refreshed by the amazing views of the main ridge. Narrow steep paths lead us to the place named Little Rock Peak. We taste the heights and the landscapes from here and begin a short segment of running on the ridge. Descent to the traditional mountain hut Curmatura. We can have a coffee break here only to continue the amazing enjoyable descents to the Jurassic canyon of Zarnesti. The gorges framed by 200m high stone walls will surely impress. We continue the course with another ascent to reach picturesque mountain villages, pastures and amazing paths on the peacefully high hills.

The final descent takes us to Bran, the famous village where we can optionally visit Bran Castle. This 14^th century building is also associated with Vlad Tepes, better known as Vlad the Impaler, who is believed to be the real-life inspiration for the character of Dracula.

Short transfer to our accommodation place, same one as the day before.

TRAIL: 20km, 1375m D+, 1425m D-

We`ll be at the foot of Piatra Craiului Mountains this day. Wild forestry areas and pastoral mountain life will delight us.  This ridge is the longest and most spectacular in the Carpathian Mountains and we`ll have great angles to admire it. Fairy-tale trails through meadows, woods and scattered villages will lead us straight above our village, Moieciu de Sus. We pass the border between Transylvania and Walachia and views over Bucegi Mountains are getting more and more impressive. We finish the run in the center of the village, where a cold drink at the local bar is a wonderful reward after our effort. Accommodation in the same place as the day before.

TRAIL: 30km, 1060m D+, 1100m D-

Half an hour transfer to the impressive citadel of Rasnov. Visit of the stronghold which is told to never been conquered. Transfer to Brasov town.  Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, as well as a wealth of historical attractions, Brasov we`ll delight us by its unique lively atmosphere.  Brasov Downtown was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211 on an ancient Dacian site and settled by the Saxons as one of the seven walled citadels.

Optional free time at the spa, the “Aquatic paradise” situated at the outskirts of Brasov from where we`ll see the mountains that are to be run on the next day.
Transfer to Busteni (50 min).

Cable-car transfer to 2000m altitude, over the surreal stone walls of the eastern part of Bucegi massif. Short look at the “Babele” and “The Sfinx” interesting rock formations and we are on today`s high adventure. Steady climb on the alpine plateau to reach the highest point of our camp.  2507m Omu Peak will delight us with stunning views over Prahova valley and hot soup. Running along Ialomita river at over 2000m will be a real joy and will allow us to speed up.  A final ascent through the pine woods leads us to the last agreeable descents, straight to Busteni village.

Transfer to Bucharest city center (170km, ~ 3 hours).
